We are proud to introduce Heavy Branch Brut Cider, an exquisitely dry, premium hard cider crafted to delight the palates of cider connoisseurs and sparkling wine enthusiasts. Heavy Branch Brut Cider exemplifies sophistication, offering a harmonious blend of French tradition and American innovation that distinguishes it from other ciders.

Heavy Branch Brut Cider features a pale straw color, reminiscent of sunlit autumn orchards. Its clarity and brilliance attest to the careful craftsmanship and promise an inviting sensory experience.

Heavy Branch Brut Cider impresses with every sip. The graceful unfolding of the orchard's richness is complemented by the barrel’s light oaky notes. An ideal balance of dryness, acidity, and natural effervescence showcases the true character of carefully selected apples, curated yeasts, and the Charmat method.

Crafting Elegance
From Branch to Bottle


 
Blue Ridge foothill orchard – the mid-Atlantic terroir behind Heavy Branch Cider.

Heavy Branch Ciders benefit from the mid-Atlantic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains' terroir. The region’s warm days, cool nights, varying elevations, and mineral-rich soils create an ideal environment for our orchard partners. We thoughtfully select from the region’s apple varietals based on the fruit’s sweetness, acidity, and tannins.

Our apples are freshly pressed, and, like the renowned Champagne houses in France, we blend our juice to achieve a consistently perfect flavor profile.

 
Oak barrels are used for Heavy Branch Cider’s primary fermentation to enhance the character of the cider.

After pressing and blending, we follow an ancestral French family recipe. We carefully craft our cider from apple juice and yeast, with no other additives, using primary barrel fermentation. This process gives Heavy Branch Brut Cider its depth and complexity.


Once the primary fermentation finishes, our cider undergoes a second fermentation in stainless steel Charmat tanks. This secondary process naturally creates the carbonation in Heavy Branch Cider. When it reaches the desired level of bubbles, our cider is bottled and ready for your enjoyment!
